Kalilangan Festival

General Santos Celebrate the Kalilangan Festival on Feb. 23 - 27. Kalilangan Festival marks 76th Foundation Anniversary of Gensan  with the theme "KULTURA KO, IDENTITY KO". Gensan Sinkhole

The City Government forcibly evacuated some 46 families from an urban coastal community here last sunday (February 15, 2015) following the emergence of  a suspected sinkhole in the area.

Brenda Maniago, one of the evacuees, said they initially notice the unusual occurrence in the aread around 5 a.m. Sunday. "We saw the sand slowly sinking and with bubbling water coming out of it. it was a small area at first but it expanded after a few hours," she said.

Maniago said one of their neighbors dived into the sinkhole on sunday afternoon and tried to determine its depth and possible cause but failed to make any progress.

Veneracion said they have assigned some of their personnel to watch over the sinkhole and prevent residents from getting near it.

This year General Santos City, will host SOCCSKSARGEN REGIONAL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION (SRAA) Meet 2015 on February 16-21 at Acharon Sports Complex, Calumpang, General Santos City. With more than 6,000 athletes from different cities of Cotabato, Gensan, Kidapawan and Tacurong, and from the provinces of Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Saranggani and South Cotabato.

In last year SRAA Meet, General Santos City was declared as the overall champion.

"The World for Everyone" a groundbreaking ceremony of Manny Pacquiao church in Gensan

On February 14, 2015. World eight-division boxing champion and Saranggani Representative Manny Pacquaio led the groundbreaking ceremony of his Php 295 million house of worship in a sprawling five-hectare prime lot here.

"I owe everything to God. I have to give it back to him. The amount is nothing compare to what God has done to my life," Pacquiao said.

The ground breaking of the said church was attended by his wife Jinkee Pacquaio who is the incumbent vice govenor of Saranggani provice along with Governor Steve Chongbian-Solon ex-Maitum town mayor Lucille Perrett, Rey Cortes, who will oversee the construction as the project manager and other guests including several pastor.

My Prepaid Card

When my friend introduce to me this Prepaid Card and explain everything about the good benefits of it, I was convince, since I don't have to worry to overspending my money, Can reload cash easily, Buy apps/games on Play Store and etc.

I and my friend went to USSC Western Union to apply for their Cash Master. We presented our School ID's (since were still a student) or any government valid ID's and fill-up the application form. After that, the lady clerk called our name for the picture and pay for only 50 pesos for local and 80 pesos for international. The only thing I don't like about the process of the card was that, you need to wait for 30 days to get your card.

Since it takes 30 days of waiting for Cash Master we decided to apply for RCBC MyWallet. For Requirements First you need to photocopy your valid ID (government or school ID if student), Second inform the guard that you want to apply for RCBC My Wallet and they will guide you on which desk is for opening an account on My Wallet. Third fill-up all necessary forms, after you filled your application form, you'll be inform that you will be able to get it after 2 business days. Afterwards inform the lady were you can get your card and present your ID for verification, then you will receive your card with your 6 digit pin code (memorize it). Lastly you can now pay it to the teller which cost 110 pesos. Just to inform you that 10 pesos is for charge. I apply for PSBank Prepaid Mastercard, regarding about the requirements unlike RCBC MyWallet and USSC Cash Card only required 1 form. but for PSBank you need to filled-out at-least 5 Bank forms

After all those form are filled-out you must need to present your valid ID(government or school ID if student) they will provide for photocopy then sign it with your signature 3 times, After that, they will inform you to take picture and for less than hour you will receive your card.

How to Load?
